City of Stevens Point issued the following on Oct. 15
November 3, 2020 General Election Voter Information
Voters are reminded to bring proper photo identification. We strongly encourage everyone to wear a mask when voting in person. If there you have any concerns about in-person voting, you are encouraged to request an absentee ballot before the deadline.
You can request an absentee ballot at myvote.wi.gov
The deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020. The deadline for indefinitely confined and military electors is Friday, October 30, 2020 by 5:00 p.m.
However, the Clerk’s office does not recommend delaying your request - sooner is better in this case. The completed ballot, sealed in the signed and witnessed envelope, must be received by Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in order for it to be counted.
Residents who have moved or changed their name are required to re-register before they will be allowed to vote. This can be done at the City Clerk’s office until Friday, October 30, 2020 or at your polling place on election day.
Safety Precautions for Poll Workers and Voters
In addition to following the CDC’s COVID 19 guidelines, the City Clerk’s office is taking steps to improve the safety and wellbeing of poll workers and those who choose to vote at the polls. Poll workers will be provided with masks and face shields. We will also have tabletop plexiglass safety barriers at all polling locations.
