FOIA Request to City of Schofield Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Central Wisconsin News have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As an organization dedicated to journalism, our role involves gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional. We await a response from the City of Schofield regarding this request and will continue our efforts in ensuring transparency and accountability in local government affairs.
