FOIA Request to Town of Weston Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Central Wisconsin News have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
This request is in line with our mission to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public. Access to such records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities as a media organization. We believe that given our role in disseminating information, we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format from the Town of Weston and will continue to report on these matters as they develop. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications needed regarding this request.
