FOIA Request to Town of Bevent Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at Central Wisconsin News have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Town of Bevent. The request, made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., seeks information about new voter registrations that occurred on November 5, 2024.
Our aim is to gather comprehensive and accurate data on same-day registered voters for the said date. As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
This includes holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
