FOIA Request to City of Wisconsin Rapids Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
We at Central Wisconsin News have formally requested a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024. The request was made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and we have asked for the information to be provided in an electronic format.
As a media organization committed to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
