A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Town of Guenther in Wisconsin regarding new voter registrations on November 7, 2024. The request, filed by Central Wisconsin News, sought a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Central Wisconsin News believe access to public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals. We are awaiting a response from the Town of Guenther regarding this request.
