FOIA Request to Town of Bergen Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
A formal request has been made by Central Wisconsin News under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Central Wisconsin News believe access to such public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the public.
Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional. This request is in line with our ongoing efforts to provide timely and relevant news about local government actions and their impact on the community.
We are awaiting a response from the Town of Bergen regarding this request. As always, we remain committed to keeping the public informed about important developments in their community.
