FOIA Request to City of Pittsville Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Central Wisconsin News have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the City of Pittsville. The request was made for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We will continue to keep the public informed as we await a response from the City of Pittsville regarding this request.
