Today, Congressman Tom Tiffany announced the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Wisconsin's Seventh District. The competition encourages middle and high school students interested in STEM fields to showcase their talents on a national stage.
"I want to thank all the students who participated in the 2024 Congressional App Challenge and extend congratulations to this year’s winner. Each submission we received highlighted the exceptional young talent in Wisconsin’s Seventh District," said Congressman Tiffany. "This year’s winner, WasteWise, was designed to help us reduce world hunger by analyzing food loss and waste data."
The first-place app, WasteWise Food Loss and Waste Predictor, was created by Neel Gonugunta from Marshfield School District. This app will be eligible for display at the U.S. Capitol and featured on the House of Representatives website. Additionally, the creator will be invited to attend the #HouseofCode Capitol Hill Reception in spring.
