A new dining option is set to open at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Marshfield campus. The Hungry Hub, operated by Sherri and Bruce Winer, will offer breakfast and lunch to students, faculty, staff, and community members starting next week.

The grand opening event for The Hungry Hub is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 27, at 10 a.m. in the UWSP at Marshfield Commons. The restaurant's operating hours will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays with extended hours during university events such as concerts and theatre performances.

“The restaurant gives us the opportunity to bring the community to the UWSP Marshfield campus,” stated Sherri Winer. “We are looking forward to offering a variety of foods and getting to know the students here.”

Sherri and Bruce Winer have previous experience in food service through their venture with The Daily Special food truck alongside their son Adam in Marshfield. Their menu offers an array of options from breakfast items to creative dishes like bacon cheeseburger egg rolls and rice bowls. At The Hungry Hub, they plan to serve various breakfast, lunch, snack options, and catering services.

Adam Winer connected with Tony Andrews, the executive at UWSP at Marshfield campus through mutual contacts at a local chiropractic office. This led to discussions about bringing The Daily Special truck to campus for student meals before transitioning into a permanent solution with The Hungry Hub.

Bruce and Sherri have been residents of Marshfield for over three decades; Sherri works as a registered nurse while Bruce runs his own lawn care and snow removal business.

“Our campus is thrilled to have The Hungry Hub provide fellowship and food options for our local community,” commented Andrews. “I’m excited for the possibilities the restaurant offers for daily meals and special evening events.”
