Rep. Tom Tiffany, a U.S. Congressman representing Wisconsin’s 7th district, shared his views on U.S.-Taiwan relations and domestic policy through social media posts. Tiffany, who has been serving in Congress since 2020 after replacing Sean Duffy, has also served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and Senate. Born in Wabasha, Minnesota, he holds a BS from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls.
On February 6, 2025, Rep. Tiffany expressed his stance on Taiwan's political status by stating that "Taiwan has never been under the control of the People’s Republic of China – not even for a single day." He further advocated for a change in U.S. policy to reflect this perspective and end the "One China" policy.
Later that day, Rep. Tiffany highlighted former President Trump's efforts to promote meritocracy in American society. In his post dated February 7, 2025, he stated that "President Trump is restoring America back to a society based on merit and hard work." He urged Congress to pass his proposed FAIR Act to institutionalize these values and eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
