Rep. Tom Tiffany has called for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to extend the Small Business Administration's (SBA) recent relocation strategy to other federal agencies. This follows the SBA's decision to move six regional offices from "sanctuary cities" to locations more aligned with federal immigration policies. Tiffany highlighted Dane County, Wisconsin, as a potential candidate for such relocations due to its "non-cooperative" status with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

"After the SBA's decision to relocate from sanctuary cities, I'm urging DOGE to apply this across all agencies," said Tiffany, Representative. "For example, Dane County is labeled as 'non-cooperative' by ICE. Many Wisconsin communities that follow immigration law would gladly host these regional offices."

According to an article by the Associated Press, the SBA announced plans to relocate offices from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, New York City, and Seattle. The new locations have not been disclosed.

On March 11, 2025, Tiffany urged DOGE to consider relocating federal agency offices from Dane County. He noted that other communities in Wisconsin would welcome these offices and encouraged DOGE to apply this approach beyond the SBA where applicable.

Tiffany said in a press release that "one such place this might be appropriate is Dane County, Wisconsin," referencing ICE's classification of the area as "non-cooperative" because it does not accept Immigration Detainers.

Tiffany represents Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District and was elected in May 2020 during a special election. He grew up on a dairy farm near Elmwood, Wisconsin, and holds a degree in agricultural economics from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and State Senate with a focus on tax reduction, job creation, and protection of 2nd Amendment rights.
