Rep. Tom Tiffany, a U.S. Congress member representing Wisconsin’s 7th district, shared his views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets on May 8 and 9, 2025. Known for his conservative stance, Tiffany replaced Sean Duffy in 2020 and has served in various legislative roles since 2011.
On May 8, Tiffany criticized the actions of certain Wisconsin officials regarding immigration enforcement. He stated that "Governor Evers directed state employees to block immigration enforcement. Milwaukee Judge Dugan helped an illegal alien evade arrest. Dane County Sheriff Barrett ignored ICE and released a criminal." He questioned the motives of Wisconsin Democrats by asking, "Why are Wisconsin Democrats protecting illegals over your safety?"
Later that day, Tiffany expressed opposition to government funding for electric vehicle (EV) chargers, likening it to unnecessary expenditure. He argued that "The government doesn’t build gas stations, and it shouldn’t be funding EV chargers either." In support of this viewpoint, he praised Secretary Duffy for ensuring taxpayer money is allocated to traditional infrastructure by stating that @SecDuffy is making sure tax dollars go to actual roads, not the Green New Scam.
On May 9, Tiffany highlighted public support for the Republican plan concerning Medicaid protection. He noted that "86% of Americans support the @HouseGOP’s plan to protect Medicaid for those who rely on it as a lifeline." Emphasizing urgency in legislative action, he added that "Congress must get this done."
Tom Tiffany was born in Wabasha, Minnesota in 1957 and currently resides in Minocqua. A graduate from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls with a BS degree obtained in 1980.
