Rep. Tom Tiffany, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin's 7th district, has recently expressed his concerns through social media regarding incidents involving illegal immigration and law enforcement. Tiffany, who succeeded Sean Duffy in 2020, has been vocal about these issues since his tenure began.
On May 19, 2025, Tiffany tweeted about two Venezuelan gang members apprehended for allegedly stealing from ATMs in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. He suggested that these individuals should be returned to their home country. "Two Venezuelan illegal gang members were caught stealing from ATMs in northern WI and MN. Let’s make sure they are “deposited” back to their home country."
The following day, on May 20, 2025, Tiffany addressed an incident involving a Milwaukee judge and a congresswoman's interaction with federal agents. He criticized the lack of consequences for these actions and questioned why Democrats believe they are exempt from legal accountability. "A Milwaukee judge helped an illegal alien evade ICE. A sitting congresswoman was caught on video physically shoving federal agents. And Democrats don’t believe either should face consequences. Why do they think they are above the law?"
Later that same day, Tiffany reflected on his own experience conducting oversight at a federally funded NGO-run hotel housing illegal aliens last year. He noted that he did not resort to physical confrontation when denied access and implied that others should follow this example of restraint. "Last year, I stopped to conduct oversight at a federally funded NGO-run hotel housing illegal aliens. I didn’t physically assault anyone when denied access. Maybe Democrats should try that."
Tom Tiffany was born in Wabasha, Minnesota in 1957 and currently resides in Minocqua. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
