Congressman Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin's 7th District expressed his support for the recent passage of H.R. 1, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The bill aims to deliver significant benefits to American families and businesses while reversing certain policies from the Biden administration.

"This bill delivers major wins for the American people by protecting families and small businesses from the largest tax hike in history and by putting more money back into the pockets of seniors, parents, and workers," said Tiffany. He highlighted that it "permanently secures the border, funds mass deportations, unleashes American energy, and modernizes our defense." Tiffany emphasized that although more work is needed to manage federal spending, this legislation marks an essential step toward restoring affordability and safety in America.

Key provisions of the reconciliation package include making permanent President Trump's 2017 tax cuts, eliminating taxes on tips and overtime, allowing seniors to deduct an additional $4,000 on their taxes, and making the child tax credit permanent with an increase in its amount. The bill also introduces reforms aimed at reducing fraud in Food Stamps and Medicaid programs and requires able-bodied adults to work to receive welfare benefits.

Additionally, it enhances resources for Border Patrol and ICE while finishing construction on the border wall. It phases out initiatives related to what is referred to as the Green New Scam (IRA), increases oil and gas leasing both onshore and offshore, boosts mineral development in America, and ends taxpayer-funded sex changes for minors.
