Rep. Tom Tiffany has sent a letter to City of Madison Clerk Maribeth Witzel-Behl, seeking clarification on the recent reports of duplicate absentee ballots being sent out in Madison. According to these reports, approximately 2,000 duplicate ballots were issued by the Madison Clerk’s Office.

Tiffany highlighted past controversial election practices in Madison and questioned how such an error could occur at a critical time. He pointed out Witzel-Behl’s previous involvement with the Center for Tech and Civic Life, which he described as left-wing and financed by "Zuckerbucks."

In his letter, Tiffany asked several questions:

- How was this “error” discovered?

- Has law enforcement been contacted to investigate whether this was due to incompetence or a deliberate act?

- Who is responsible for this error?

- What steps have been taken to preserve all related records?

- What is the exact number of duplicate ballots sent out?

- Which ward was affected by this error?

- Have there been any reports of duplicate ballots in other wards, and what due diligence has been conducted?

- Have any duplicate ballots been returned and set aside pending investigation?

- Are the unique ballot barcodes linked to individual voter profiles?
