Mid-State Technical College is set to host the fourth annual Central Wisconsin Farm Profitability Expo on April 30 at its Wisconsin Rapids Campus. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This in-person expo is organized in collaboration with UW-Madison Extension, the Wisconsin Potato Vegetable Growers Association, regional watershed groups, nonprofit organizations, Wood County Land and Water Conservation staff, and agricultural and natural resource specialists.

The expo aims to promote profitable farming by enhancing resiliency, diversifying operations, reducing inputs, and increasing farmers' return on investment. Attendees will gain insights into best-management practices that leverage nature's offerings to boost self-sufficiency on farms. Topics include regenerative management, managed grazing, cover and companion crops, and no-till farming.

Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss specific challenges faced by central Wisconsin farmers when adopting these practices with peers who have successfully implemented them.

Thanks to funding from Wood County Land and Water Conservation, the event is free for participants. Certified Crop Adviser’s (CCA) credits will be available for attendees. Registration is required by April 24. More information and registration details can be found at mstc.edu/farm-expo.
