The board of directors at Opportunity Development Centers, Inc. (ODC) has appointed Erin Smith as the new Chief Executive Officer. Smith will assume her duties on May 5, 2025. She succeeds Julie Strenn, who will be departing from the organization in May.

Pat Gall, the chairperson of the ODC Board of Directors, praised the appointment, stating, "The board was in unanimous agreement that Erin is the perfect fit to be ODC’s next CEO. Erin brings vast experience and connections in the industry as well as strong leadership skills. This will support the continued success of ODC into the future."

Smith's background includes managing home and community-based services and leading the Disability Service Provider Network. Her work has focused on advocating for long-term care system transformation and fortifying provider networks. She has held roles in care management, senior leadership in provider network operations, contract negotiations, project management, and has contributed significantly to transforming long-term care systems.

ODC, a non-profit established in 1965, aims to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals, providing support to individuals in 21 counties across Wisconsin. As Smith prepares to take on her new role, she is recognized for nurturing collaborative relationships within Wisconsin’s long-term care industry and looks forward to establishing similar connections with the staff and participants at ODC.

In her personal life, Smith places great value on family, enjoying time spent supporting her son in various sports. She also enjoys the outdoors with her family and friends, alongside her two dogs.

Julie Strenn will have a send-off, and Erin Smith will be welcomed at several ODC locations in Wisconsin, providing an opportunity for stakeholders to meet the incoming CEO.
