Event: Brewing the Conversation About Advance Care Planning

Location: Marathon County Public Library
If a sudden, unexpected event (like a car accident or sudden illness) left you unable to make your own health care decisions, who would make decisions for you? Would they know what you wanted?
Wisconsin is not a next-of-kin state, meaning family members cannot automatically make health care decisions for you without an Advance Directive or court order.
Brewing the Conversation is an event that encourages you to begin having conversations about your health care wishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Education is provided about Advance Care Planning in a light and interactive manner.
We will have refreshments and conversation. We will ask you to reflect on your own experiences, values, and beliefs.
We will talk about how to get help with a written advance directive and you will be able to register for one-on-one help with your advance directive. We will also be giving away fun prizes!
