Water Tower painting

3

Edgar Village - WI recently issued the following announcement.

Beginning today, the Village will be rehabbing and recoating with epoxy paint the 200,000-gallon water storage tower. The project is expected to take up to 35 days to complete. The tower, located off 2nd Avenue is 41 years old and to protect the integrity of the steel, the tank needs to be surface prepped and painted. The wet interior and exterior surfaces of the tower will be rehabbed at this time. You may experience some discolored water as the tower is drained, like when the hydrants are exercised and there will also be fluctuations in pressure during this time.

This is not harmful, but you will need to run each faucet in your home to clear this from your pipes. AirRunner internet customers may have a service outage during the hours the top of the tower is painted; we will provide additional notice when this takes place. We will have continual water service, but the Village will not have water in storage during this time, so we encourage you to conserve water during this process. The hydrant at W Redwood Street and 8th Avenue will have a pressure relief valve, so water will be discharging from this hydrant during all hours. If you have any questions or concerns during this process, please contact Village Hall at 715-352-2891
