Census Bureau: More men than women in Maine in 2020

Of the 2,577 people living in Maine in 2020, 47.5 percent (1,223) were women and 52.5 percent (1,354) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Central Wisconsin News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 64. In the 65 and over age range, there were 193 females and 166 males.

An agency of the U.S. Federal Statistical System, the Census Bureau is responsible for compiling statistical facts about the American people, places and economy. Data for this story was compiled from the bureau's American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
