Event Description:

People miss John Denver and his brilliant music; Ted Vigil is doing his best to pay homage. The Arts Council of South Wood County is giving him and his band that opportunity on Thursday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center of Wisconsin Rapids, 1801 16th Street South. Bring the whole family and get into the Christmas spirit! You’ll be transported back in time as you watch Vigil take the stage, with his uncanny physical and musical resemblance to the great John Denver. Audiences of Rocky Mountain Christmas have been known to leave the concert singing and spiritually uplifted after hearing Denver’s favorites, like Christmas for Cowboys, Christmas Like a Lullaby, I’ll Fly Away, and Jingle Bells. Vigil just might throw a few of Denver’s well-known non-Christmas tunes into the mix as well. Tickets are selling quickly and are only $35 for adults and $10 for students. Purchase them 24/7 at www.SavorTheArts.org. Call 715.424.2787 or visit The Arts Council at 1040 8th Street South, Suite 101, Wisconsin Rapids, between 10:00 and 2:30 Monday through Thursday for personal assistance. Sponsors for the performance include Wisconsin Rapids City Times, Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, Muzzy Broadcasting (Stations WSPT, WPCN, and WPTW), and Point & Plover Publication.
