WASHINGTON, DC– Congressman Tom Tiffany (WI-07) has expressed his support for the impeachment of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in a statement released today. Congressman Tiffany, after voting for H. Res. 863, highlighted several reasons for his decision.

In his statement, Congressman Tiffany accused Secretary Mayorkas of neglecting the enforcement of federal immigration laws and abusing his parole authority. He claimed that Mayorkas has repeatedly lied to Congress and allowed millions of illegal aliens and dangerous drugs to enter American communities. Congressman Tiffany specifically criticized Mayorkas' implementation of a "mass catch-and-release scheme" that has resulted in illegal immigrants being released into American neighborhoods without court dates or monitoring.

"I do not take an impeachment vote lightly, but it's time to put the safety of our citizens first and hold Secretary Mayorkas accountable for his failures," said Congressman Tiffany.

The concerns raised by Congressman Tiffany are not unfounded. NBC News reported that the Biden administration is preparing a memo that will direct Customs and Border Protection to release migrants into the U.S. without court dates or the ability to track them. This information was shared by three sources familiar with the plans.

Furthermore, CBS News revealed that over 1 million people have been allowed to enter the U.S. under Biden administration programs that rely on immigration parole authority. This statistic supports Congressman Tiffany's claim that Secretary Mayorkas has unleashed a significant number of individuals into the country.

Even Secretary Mayorkas himself acknowledged the high rate of release for apprehended illegal immigrants at the southern border. Fox News reported that he admitted to Border Patrol agents that the current rate of release is above 85 percent.

The impeachment vote against Secretary Mayorkas represents a significant step in holding him accountable for his actions. Congressman Tiffany's statement reflects the growing concerns over the Biden administration's approach to immigration enforcement and the potential risks it poses to American citizens.

As this impeachment process moves forward, it remains to be seen how Congress will ultimately decide on Secretary Mayorkas' fate. However, Congressman Tiffany's statement serves as a strong reminder that the safety of American citizens should always be prioritized in matters of national security and immigration policy.
