Rep. Tom Tiffany, a U.S. Congressman representing Wisconsin’s 7th district since 2020, expressed his concerns over issues related to birth tourism and immigration policies in a series of tweets on February 11, 2025.

In the first tweet, Rep. Tiffany highlighted a scheme involving Turkish women obtaining U.S. citizenship for their children through birth tourism, which he claimed cost taxpayers over $2 million in illicitly obtained Medicaid benefits. "A birth tourism scheme that helped Turkish women get their children U.S. citizenship cost taxpayers over $2 million in illicitly obtained Medicaid benefits."

Continuing his discourse on immigration policy, Rep. Tiffany voiced support for former President Trump's stance against birthright citizenship. He stated, "Our immigration policy should not encourage and reward illegal immigration." Further emphasizing his position, he endorsed the Birthright Citizenship Act proposed by Rep. Brian Babin to solidify President Trump's executive order into law. "That's why President Trump is right to put an end to birthright citizenship."

In another tweet posted simultaneously, Rep. Tiffany referred to an incident involving two individuals running a “maternity house” operation targeting Chinese nationals seeking U.S. citizenship for their children at a significant cost. These individuals allegedly provided clients with advice on deceiving immigration authorities."Two people were caught running a 'maternity house' where they charged Chinese nationals tens of thousands of dollars in exchange for help getting their children U.S. citizenship."
