A new exhibition titled “Meet Your Mentors” is currently open at the Carlsten Art Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The show features works by faculty members from the university and will run through Saturday, September 13. An artist reception is scheduled for Thursday, September 4.
Located on the second floor of the Noel Fine Arts Center, the gallery welcomes visitors free of charge. It operates Tuesdays through Fridays from noon to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The exhibition gives students an opportunity to see their instructors’ creative work outside of class settings. Faculty participants represent all programs within the School of Design and Communication, which includes art, art history, graphic design, interior architecture, media studies, and professional communication.
“The show highlights not only the diverse talent within the SDC, but it also celebrates with the greater Wisconsin community and the expertise and passion that UWSP faculty bring to teaching and their art,” said Carlsen Art Gallery Director Kyle Knoke.
The Carlsten Art Gallery hosts exhibitions ranging from student work to displays by internationally recognized artists. The gallery is part of UWSP’s College of Fine Arts and Communication and aims to provide a space for creative exploration led by faculty, staff, and scholars.
