The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Department of Theatre and Dance has announced its 2025-26 season, with a series of productions under the theme “Life, Longing and Legacy.” The upcoming performances will explore these ideas through various genres including comedy, music, dance, and mystery.

“Ultimately this season is about connection and how the past, present, and future align to create rich, full experiences,” said Michael Estanich, professor and chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance. “My hope is that the bold new stories and original dances this season remind you of the importance and impact that the arts have in our community.”

The season will begin with two short murder mysteries: “Shall We Join the Ladies?”—set at a country estate dinner where guests discover one among them has a dark secret—and “Trifles,” which follows Minnie Foster Wright as she faces accusations of murdering her husband while authorities search for evidence in her farmhouse. These shows will be performed from September 18-21 at the Noel Fine Arts Center.

Other scheduled productions include “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” in October, an absurdist comedy featuring Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in early 20th-century Paris; “Ride the Cyclone” in November, telling the story of six teenagers given a chance at life after a fatal accident; “Afterimages 2025” in December with original student choreography; “She Kills Monsters” in late February and March—a dramatic comedy set within fantasy role-playing culture; “The Secret Garden” musical adaptation in April; and “Danstage 2026” in May showcasing faculty and guest artist dance works.

Tickets for individual shows as well as season packages are available by phone or online at tickets.uwsp.edu. More information on show dates and ticket options can be found on the department’s website at uwsp.edu/theatre-dance/2025-2026-season/.
