Representative Tom Tiffany addresses mental health, immigration, and higher education policy in recent social media posts
U.S. Representative Tom Tiffany posted a series of messages on X (formerly Twitter) on August 27 and 28, 2025, addressing topics including the Annunciation Catholic School tragedy, university hiring practices for foreign workers, and Medicaid eligibility.
On August 27, Rep. Tiffany commented on the aftermath of an incident at Annunciation Catholic School: "My prayers are with the students, teachers, and families affected by the Annunciation Catholic School tragedy. We all agree change is needed, but we must call out the truth. Mental illness can no longer be ignored. It must be diagnosed and treated, not normalized or affirmed."
The following day, he discussed university employment policies for foreign workers: "Universities enjoy a special H-1B visa loophole, allowing them to hire unlimited foreign workers. My CAP Act closes it. Our universities should be training and hiring Americans first."
Later that evening on August 28, Tiffany addressed claims about Medicaid policy: "When Democrats lie and say we 'kicked people off Medicaid,' ask: 1: Why is stopping illegal aliens from stealing benefits a problem? 2: Why are they prioritizing able-bodied adults who refuse to work instead of protecting benefits for those who truly need them? You’ll hear ."
Tom Tiffany has represented Wisconsin’s 7th congressional district since winning a special election in 2020. He has consistently secured re-election victories over his opponents in subsequent general elections—including wins against Tricia Zunker in 2020 (60.7% to 39.2%), Richard Ausman in 2022 (61.8% to 38.1%), and Kyle Kilbourn in 2024 (63.6% to 36.4%).
