University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point employee Alexander Menningen donates $200 to Bernard Sanders' campaign

Alexander Menningen, an employee at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, donated $200 to Democratic Party candidate Bernard Sanders, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $1,775 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as of November 3. All of these contributions were made to Democratic Party candidates and committees.

Karin Hyler's contribution of $1,275 to Democratic Party Elizabeth Warren was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
