Congressman Tom Tiffany has asserted that 11 U.S. embassies have been evacuated during Joe Biden’s presidency, a number higher than any other president. Tiffany believes this trend highlights a perceived weakness on the global stage under the Biden administration.
"11 U.S. embassies have been evacuated during Joe Biden's presidency," said U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wi), Representative, according to X. "MORE THAN any other president. With Joe Biden in the White House, we have weakness on the world stage."
The National Museum of American Diplomacy explains that embassies operate under the leadership of ambassadors who represent the U.S. President. These official U.S. missions abroad embody American sovereignty and diplomatic presence. Embassies perform multiple roles such as providing services to American citizens overseas, promoting U.S. interests, and facilitating cultural exchanges to enhance mutual understanding between nations. Staffed by American diplomats and locally employed personnel, embassies act as crucial hubs for diplomacy and strategic engagement globally.

Over 27 U.S. government agencies participate in these discussions at large and medium-sized posts under the ambassador's authority. These agencies include commerce, agriculture, state, and USAID (United States Agency for International Development), all of which deploy personnel abroad to promote U.S. interests. Other entities such as the Defense Attaché Office along with agencies like Homeland Security and Justice also contribute to diplomatic efforts overseas.
