The Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, H.R. 7909, seeks to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to render aliens inadmissible or deportable if they have been convicted of or admitted to committing sex offenses, domestic violence, stalking, child abuse, or violating a protection order. According to Congress.gov, the act specifies that any alien convicted of or admitting to such offenses will be ineligible for entry into the U.S. and outlines the categories of offenses, including details on domestic violence and related crimes. The proposed changes aim to enhance legal consequences for undocumented immigrants who engage in serious crimes.
