Wisconsin State Representative Tom Tiffany stated that Mark Zuckerberg admitted the Biden-Harris administration "pressured Facebook to censor free speech."

"Mark Zuckerberg admitted to @JudiciaryGOP that the Biden-Harris admin pressured Facebook to censor Americans' free speech," said Tom Tiffany (R-Wi). "Facebook complied. Democrats are the Party of Censorship."

According to Zuckerberg, Meta provided "thousands of documents" and allowed interviews with employees to assist the investigation. He said that Meta's platforms aim to "promote speech" and provide a "safe and secure" environment. However, in 2021, senior officials from the Biden Administration "repeatedly pressured" Meta to censor specific COVID-19 content and expressed frustration when Meta did not comply. Zuckerberg admitted that while it was Meta's decision to take down content, he regrets not being "more outspoken" against it at the time.

Zuckerberg also addressed an incident before the 2020 election when the FBI warned Meta about potential Russian disinformation involving the Biden family. In response, Meta temporarily demoted a New York Post story related to corruption allegations, a decision he now regrets, acknowledging that the story was not disinformation.

The House Judiciary Committee GOP commented on these revelations in an X post: "Mark Zuckerberg just admitted three things: 1. Biden-Harris Admin 'pressured' Facebook to censor Americans. 2. Facebook censored Americans. 3. Facebook throttled the Hunter Biden laptop story. Big win for free speech."

Tiffany, representing Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District, was elected in May 2020 during a special election. With roots in the district, he grew up on a dairy farm near Elmwood, Wisconsin, and holds a degree in agricultural economics from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Before Congress, Tiffany served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and State Senate, focusing on tax reduction, job creation, and protection of Second Amendment rights.
