Wisconsin State Representative Tom Tiffany said that Vice President Kamala Harris aims to use taxpayer funds for "sex change surgeries for illegal aliens," a measure he opposes. Tiffany supports Representative Greg Steube’s STOP WEIRD Act to prevent this from happening. Tiffany made his statement in a September 13 post on X.

"Kamala Harris wants to use your taxpayer dollars to fund sex change surgeries for illegal aliens," said Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wi). "I will not allow that. Thank you @RepGregSteube for introducing the STOP WEIRD Act to put an end to this absurd plan."

Representative Greg Steube introduced H.R. 9586, also known as the "STOP WEIRD Act of 2024." The bill seeks to prohibit the use of federal funds for certain gender transition procedures for individuals in the custody of the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Health and Human Services. According to Congress.gov, the bill defines "specified gender transition procedures" to include various surgical interventions and hormonal treatments intended to change an individual's sex.

"This is a bill Congress shouldn’t have to write, but my legislation is now necessary because the sitting VP and Democrat nominee for president, Kamala Harris, has pledged to use taxpayer dollars to fund sex change surgeries for illegal immigrants. Free sex change surgeries join a litany of ‘benefits’ the Democrats promote to illegals to encourage them to break our laws, enter our country illegally, and vote!" said Steube, according to a press release by Steube. "Congress must pass my bill so we can safeguard our taxpayer dollars from Kamala’s weird and disgusting plan, which she could implement today," Steube added.

Tiffany represents Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District and was elected in May 2020 during a special election. He holds a degree in agricultural economics from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. Before joining Congress, Tiffany served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and State Senate, focusing on tax reduction, job creation, and Second Amendment rights protection, according to his biography provided by House.Gov.
