FOIA Request to Town of Carson Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at Central Wisconsin News have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
Our role as a media organization involves gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As such, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
The requested information will help us provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage about voter participation in the recent election. We look forward to receiving this data in an electronic format from the Town of Carson as soon as possible.
