FOIA Request to Village of Fenwood Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent by Central Wisconsin News to the Village of Fenwood on November 7, 2024. The request pertains to the list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Central Wisconsin News believe in the importance of transparency and accountability. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
In our FOIA request, we asked for the records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., preferably in electronic format. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
We await a response from the Village of Fenwood and will continue our efforts in ensuring transparency in our local government's actions.
