Wisconsin Representative Tom Tiffany described the Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation executive order as a "huge win" for America's youth, commending President Trump for the action. Tiffany made his statement in a January 28 post on X.
"This is a huge win for America's youth," said Tiffany. "Thank you, President Trump!"
According to the White House, President Trump's executive order prohibits federal funding or support for gender-transition procedures for minors, including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries. It mandates the review of policies relying on questionable scientific guidance and aims to prevent medical institutions from performing these procedures on children using federal funds. The order directs actions across various government departments, including the Department of Defense, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Health and Human Services, to end such practices and protect minors from these medical interventions.

The executive order states: "Countless children soon regret that they have been mutilated and begin to grasp the horrifying tragedy that they will never be able to conceive children of their own or nurture their children through breastfeeding. Moreover, these vulnerable youths’ medical bills may rise throughout their lifetimes, as they are often trapped with lifelong medical complications, a losing war with their own bodies, and, tragically, sterilization," according to the White House.
In 2022, Tiffany co-introduced the Stop the Sexualization of Children Act. This legislation seeks to ban federal funding for programs, events, or literature promoting gender ideology or sexualization of children under 10. The bill also aims to cut off funding to organizations in violation and provide parents with a legal pathway to take action against such violations.
Tiffany represents Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District after being elected in May 2020 during a special election. He grew up on a dairy farm near Elmwood, Wisconsin, and holds a degree in agricultural economics from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Before Congress, he served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and State Senate with a focus on tax reduction, job creation, and protection of 2nd Amendment rights.
