The Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce has recognized Mid-State Technical College as its 2025 Member of the Year. This accolade is awarded to businesses that exemplify dedication and engagement as chamber supporters. The award was presented during the HOW's 77th Annual Meeting Awards Banquet on March 6 in Wisconsin Rapids.
Candidates for Member of the Year are those who regularly attend and actively participate in various chamber events throughout the year. These businesses not only attend but also contribute to achieving the organization's goals, embodying a spirit of collaboration.
Mid-State Technical College has been influential in education and workforce advancement for over a century, adapting to meet the needs of students, businesses, and the community. Staff members from Mid-State engage by attending, speaking at, hosting HOW events, sponsoring initiatives, and holding leadership roles such as serving on the Board of Directors.
“At Mid-State, we take great pride in being an engaged and active member of the Chamber," said Dr. Brigitta Altmann-Austin, dean of Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus and Schools of Applied Technology and General Education. "Whether through collaborative events, community outreach or workforce training programs, we strive to contribute meaningfully to the success of our region."
Dr. Shelly Mondeik, President of Mid-State expressed pride in receiving this recognition: "Although recognition is never the driver of Mid-State’s commitment to its communities, we are incredibly proud and honored to be named Heart of Wisconsin’s 2025 Member of the Year." She added that they look forward to continuing their support for both HOW Chamber and their local community.
