Prevail Bank is organizing a Free Community Shred Day on April 17, from 9 AM to noon, at its Wisconsin Rapids branch located at 1601 Lincoln Street. This initiative provides the community with an opportunity to securely dispose of confidential documents. According to the bank, "Shredding your documents protects your personal information from fraud." In support of local education, financial stability, and health initiatives, "Prevail Bank and Bank-A-Count will each donate $1 (up to $1,000) to the United Way of South Wood & Adams County" for every pound of paper shredded.
For those unable to attend the Wisconsin Rapids event, Prevail Bank has scheduled additional Community Shred Days at various locations:
- Owen, on May 7 from 10 AM to 2 PM, benefitting Friends of the Old School Inc.
- Marshfield, on May 8 from 10 AM to 2 PM, supporting the Children’s Miracle Network.
- Baraboo, on May 13 from 10 AM to 2 PM, aiding People Helping People/Adopt a Veteran Program.
- Wausau, on May 15 from 10 AM to 2 PM, benefiting the Humane Society of Marathon County.
- Medford and Eau Claire, both on May 16 from 10 AM to 2 PM, aiding Operation Horses Heal and YMCA of the Chippewa Valley, respectively.
- Stevens Point, on May 20 from 10 AM to 2 PM, supporting CAP Services.
- Phillips, on May 20 from 1 PM to 4 PM, benefiting Catkins Animal Rescue.
Those bringing more than two boxes of paper are encouraged to donate $5 per additional box. Donations can also be made to the respective local nonprofits before or during each event. For further information on credit monitoring and identity theft protection, residents are advised to contact their local Prevail Bank banker.
