Mid-State Technical College has opened applications for its $5,000 "Big Decision Scholarship," targeted at 2025 high school seniors seeking clarity on their post-graduation plans. This initiative aims to support those who are undecided about their next steps.
Eligibility for this scholarship requires applicants to be high school graduates of the current year and accepted into Mid-State. The Mid-State Technical College Foundation, Inc. funds this program. The scholarship recipient will be recognized at the Admit Day event on May 2 at the Wisconsin Rapids Campus.
“We're thrilled to bring the Big Decision Scholarship back this year,” said Jackie Esselman, dean of Recruitment and Admissions. “The $5,000 award significantly helps with the cost of education at Mid-State and will cover the full tuition for many of our programs and certificates. It's an incredible opportunity that graduating high school seniors won't want to miss.”
Micki Dirks-Luebbe, director of Foundation and Alumni, explained the scholarship's purpose: "Choosing a college and career path can feel overwhelming, which is why the Big Decision Scholarship was designed to help ease the transition from high school to college. Scholarships like this are made possible through the generosity of our donors and the leadership of our Foundation Board, who are dedicated to supporting our mission of investing in student success."
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by April 30 at mstc.edu/big-decision. Seniors within the Mid-State district may also attend Admit Day by RSVPing at mstc.edu/admit-day.
