Aspirus Wausau Hospital issued the following announcement on July 21
Parsons Chevrolet Buick of Antigo donated $529 to the We Honor Veterans program at LeRoyer Hospice Care through Aspirus. Each month Parsons of Antigo gives back to the community through its oil change program, which allocates one dollar from every oil change for its monthly donation.
For the month of June, Parsons selected the We Honor Veterans program, a national program hospice centers can participate in to care for the unique needs of veterans at the end of life. We Honor Veterans has four levels that symbolize the hospice center’s rank and accomplishment. LeRoyer Hospice Care at Aspirus Langlade Hospital is currently a Level III center working toward achieving Level IV status.
LeRoyer Hospice Care is primarily a home care program that provides care to terminally ill patients of all ages when curative therapy is no longer effective. As part of the We Honor Veterans program, LeRoyer Hospice offers pinning ceremonies with flag folding, a certificate of appreciation and a flag for the family at no charge.
“These ceremonies are very powerful and healing for the veterans and their families. They give our patients an opportunity to reflect and our community the ability to appreciate the gifts that our veterans have given,” said Sue Deisinger, registered nurse and coordinator at We Honor Veterans. “A big thank you to Parsons of Antigo for helping us continue this mission of supporting veterans.”
