Mid-State Technical College is set to host its first "Chalk the College" event on July 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Stevens Point Downtown Campus. The event invites community members to participate in this artistic endeavor.

Due to limited availability, interested artists are encouraged to register promptly. A registration fee of $10 applies and can be submitted until July 18. Registration is available online or in person with cash or check at any Mid-State location.

"Chalk the College is part of a yearlong celebration marking the 10th anniversary of our Stevens Point campus being located downtown," stated Ben Nusz, Dean of the Stevens Point Downtown Campus. He added that participants are encouraged to draw inspiration from themes such as the number 10, the city of Stevens Point, or the former mall site where the campus now stands. Other themes include showcasing Mid-State’s academic programs and school spirit.

The top three artists will receive Visa gift cards based on their artistic merit and how well they incorporate one of Mid-State's themes into their designs.

Alongside the chalk contest, attendees can enjoy food from Baked ‘N Loaded food truck, free Mid-State Cranberry Cougar Swirl ice cream, and guided tours of the campus.
