Enrollment at Nekoosa School District decreased by 2.4% compared to previous school year

There were 1,197 students enrolled in Nekoosa School District in the 2024-25 school year, 2.4% less than the previous year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2024-25 school year, 53% identified themselves as boys, 47% as girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, accounting for 82.9% of the Nekoosa School District total enrollment.

Nekoosa School District covers six schools within Wood County, with its main office in Nekoosa.

Among the six schools in the district, Alexander Middle School recorded the highest enrollment of 326 students in the 2024-25 school year.

Wisconsin had a student-to-teacher ratio of 14-to-1 in 2025, lower than the national average of 16-to-1, according to Public School Review.
