County Materials Corporation has joined the list of partners supporting Mid-State Technical College’s Wayne H. Bushman Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, and Apprenticeship (AMETA) Center with a $200,000 contribution. The donation grants the company lifetime naming rights to one of the classrooms in the facility.

The partnership was marked by a check presentation and ribbon-cutting event at the AMETA Center on August 13. County Materials is based in Marathon City, Wisconsin, and manufactures concrete construction products for infrastructure projects such as bridges, stormwater systems, parking structures, warehouses, and retail complexes. The company employs nearly 2,000 people across various roles including manufacturing, finance, human resources, IT, marketing, operations, risk management, sales, and transportation.

Rebecca Sonnentag, executive vice president of marketing and communications at County Materials Corporation said: “At County Materials Family of Companies, we know firsthand how transformative hands-on technical education can be, and we’re proud to play a role in expanding access by supporting the AMETA Center. The AMETA Center represents innovation, collaboration and a shared vision for success in manufacturing. We’re excited to be part of a movement that will positively impact lives, businesses and the region for years to come.”

Sonnentag added: “For our organization and our family, this collaboration is both personal and purposeful. We see it as an investment in people—a way to foster growth, learning and success that will multiply throughout our organization and the wider community."

Dr. Shelly Mondeik, president of Mid-State Technical College said: “We are deeply grateful to County Materials Corporation for their generous support of the AMETA Center. This project has fostered so many vibrant partnerships between Mid-State and local employers, all working together to expand opportunities for our students and strengthen our regional workforce. This gift is another example of the kind of collaboration we are so proud to celebrate.”

Mid-State Technical College noted that some sponsorship opportunities for lifetime naming rights at the AMETA Center are still available.
