Cost of college went up for all students at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.4 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Wisconsin residents paid $8,239 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $30 more than the $8,209 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 100.3 percent more than residents this year, or $16,506. Their price tag grew 0.2 percent from $16,476 in 2017-18.

About 87 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Wisconsin residents. About 12 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,155 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.8 million and 964 students took out student loans totaling more than $6.3 million.

Including all undergraduates (9,086), 4,477 students used grants or scholarships totaling $24.7 million, and 4,810 students took out $29.9 million in federal student loans.
