The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Marshfield is set to present the musical "Godspell" from January 31 to February 2 and February 6 to February 8. The performances will take place in the Helen Connor Laird Theatre located at 2000 W 5th St., Marshfield, with shows beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The musical, originally composed by Stephen Schwartz, will be directed by Donna Thompson. This rendition introduces contemporary references and new arrangements while maintaining the essence of the original work.

"Godspell" narrates a series of parables through a mix of games, storytelling techniques, and humor. It features an eclectic blend of music styles ranging from pop to vaudeville as it unfolds the story of Jesus Christ's life, culminating in scenes depicting the Last Supper and Crucifixion. The production aims to bring messages of kindness, tolerance, and love to life on stage.

Sponsored by the Laird Fund for the Arts, tickets are priced at $20 and are available for purchase online at tickets.uwsp.edu.
